Lore and History[]

The previous incarnation of the Nineteenth met with a tragic end many years ago when the foolish then-General Schenitz personally oversaw the destruction of four entire cohorts of soldiers by ordering them deep into the Abyss, believing he had trapped an enemy commander - when it was discovered that it was he, himself, that had been drawn into a trap. After Schenitz' disgraceful end, the Nineteenth's remaining cohorts were disbanded and transferred into existing legion vacancies.

With the rapidly rising level of conflict with the Elyos and the recent influx of Daeva recruits, however, the Nineteenth was again resurrected. The reformed legion's command post was given to an untested young noble, Akleron of House Anselm, and wished the best of luck as many of the military's greenest, oddest, and otherwise atypical recruits were transferred in under his command. It is with this awkward, ramshackle group of less-than-ideal soldiers that Akleron will try forge his reputation and the Nineteenth will once again rise to honorable standing.

Brigadier General: Akleron of House Anselm

Colonel: Kjell of House Freymir

Lieutenant Colonel: Hjörtr

The Third Cohort[]

Notably, the Nineteeth has the highest number of Andorjans enlisted under its command than any other legion in Asmodae. Most of these enlisted Andorjans serve with the third cohort under the command of the Centurion Særða, who is himself an Andorjan. The third serves primarily as the reconnaissance and supply unit of the Nineteenth, and as such, seems to be constantly on the move.

Recruitment Post[]

Upon your enlistment and transfer to the Nineteenth, you meet one of their officers at headquarters in Pandaemonium. The large Daeva in front of you seems to fill the tiny, windowless room, and he stares at you with a serious expression before handing you a small, thin booklet. "Read it," he grunts, leaning back against the desk behind him. His eyes follow you as you slide a claw under the cover and you scan the page:

-- Code of the Nineteenth --

I. You are a Legionnaire in the service of all of Asmodae. You have been consecrated by aether and entrusted with a most sacred duty to defend against all who might seek to destroy her.

II. It matters not what you were previous to your ascension or before you joined this legion. Every Legionnaire is now your brother-or-sister-at-arms, and will be treated with equal respect and dignity.

III. You will venerate the Legion's traditions and honor the commands of your superiors. You will show pride in your membership with the Legion and never bring shame upon yourself or your comrades in neither word nor deed.

IV. A mission, once given to you, becomes a solemn vow. You will see it through to its end and at all costs. You will not concede defeat nor surrender to an enemy of Asmodae. You will fight and resist until your dying breath.

V. You acknowledge that you are responsible for your actions and that you will accept their consequences. Failure to follow the Code will result in being declared an enemy of the Legion. Your comrades will act without mercy.

As you finish reading, you look back up at the officer, who has not stopped watching you the entire time. "Do you swear to follow the Code?" he asks you. You nod your agreement, and the Daeva hands you a neatly folded guild cape. "Then welcome to the Nineteenth."

OOC[]

We consider ourselves to be a gaming and roleplaying group instead of a strictly Aion guild. We don't mind staying small, and we believe in adding quality people to that group over artificially growing our numbers with people who don't mesh or don't understand what we're about.

If you're curious about us, here's a few things to know about how we roll:

- We run the gamut of gaming experience, skill level, and time investment. We're more "enthusiastic and dedicated" than "hardcore" gamers.

- A sense of dry, sarcastic humor and the willingness to not hold anything sacred is a must. We do not hold back often with mature language or jokes, and can be critical at times.

- We are a Ventrilo-using group. Yes, we are roleplayers that use Vent (though generally not while we are in the process of actively RPing). It is, however, our primary means of communication; we'll log onto Vent without even being in game. We believe in knowing a person OOCly beyond just a computer screen.

- Our normal play time ranges from about 9pm - 1am Eastern; sometimes a bit earlier during the week, and can be very late on weekends.

If you want to know more about us, you can troll our boards at http://www.legioxix.com.
