Etymology[]
[Nay-o-mer-ee]
A variation of the name "Naomi", which in Hebrew translates as "pleasant", "delightful", or "beautiful". Similarly in Japanese, the name can be interpreted as "beautiful" or "honest".
[Suh-koo-ruh]
Traditionally, surnames are passed down through marriage and generation. However, in Naomri's case, the name "Sakura" was intially an attempt to sexually harass her. "Miss. Sakura" Rojazu referred to her as, a petname prompted by the pink tinge to her hair. To avoid further humilation -- and perhaps to make a point -- Naomri resolved to bleach the natural colour out of her hair, resulting in her blonde locks. Though, unfortunately for Naomri, her timing was too late; the name had already caughten on, and some even presumed it was her name by birthright. In Japanese, the popular name "Sakura" renders into English as "cherry blossom".
